i’m writing down your favorite things to show you that i’ve read through your letter again.

randoms & ramblings.
this is such an out of the blue annoyance on my part, but there is such a double standard in my family.
my cousins can dye their hair crazy colors. orange. blonde. purple. my cousins can get tattoos. small anklet ones. little chinese characters. huge back murals. full sleeves. my cousins can get piercings galore. five in each ear. six in each ear. four in each ear and a nose ring. three in each and a belly ring.
any of my cousins (well, excluding the oldest one because he’s 37) could do any of that and it would be okay. not necessarily accepted, but no one would say anything. my grandma would take it as it was. for me though? well, if i were to get any of those (ahem, with her knowledge), i would be judged and questioned. i am not the perfect person. my brother and i are not the two who don’t do anything.
i’d really rather my family didn’t expect us to keep clean bodies. it bugs the hell out of me.
